We treat a comprehensive range of conditions including aortic stenosis, arrhythmia, coronary artery disease (CAD), deep venous thrombosis (DVT), peripheral arterial disease (PAD), chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), and high blood pressure.

At Cary Cardiology, P.A. we also diagnose and treat the common cardiac symptoms such as an irregular heartbeat, palpitations, and chest pain using diagnostics like EKG (electrocardiography), echocardiography, stress testing, ultrasounds, and cardiac monitoring.

Additionally, we offer more specialized services under the care of our electrophysiology and vascular specialty teams. Working with leading medical technology companies such as Sigvaris, Medtronic, St Jude/Abbott, Biotronik, and Boston Scientific we employ state-of-the-art treatment options. Procedures may include cardiac ablation, balloon angioplasty, electrical cardioversion, loop recorder implantation, RF laser ablation for varicose vein treatment, venaseal, and more.

Position Information

We are currently seeking to add a qualified nurse practitioner to our night and weekend shift rotation.

The ideal candidate will have previous cardiology experience and knowledge, strong Epic EHR knowledge, and will enjoy working as part of a team but also have strong capacity to work with more autonomy. We are seeking a candidate that is looking for a position that will challenge them, offer them growth and learning opportunities, and allow them to work to to the top of their license.

Job description.

As a Nurse Practitioner on our team you would utilize your skills to diagnose and treat cardiac conditions, as well as promote good health practices. As an advanced practice registered nurse, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a nurse practitioner includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives.

This role is well suited to previous Nurse Practitioner experience in adult and cardiac care. As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills and communication ability are important. If you’re dedicated to advancing your knowledge and clinical expertise through research and professional discourse, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients and their medical records
  • Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
  • Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
  • Propose treatments for chronic diseases
  • Prescribe medications
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules
  • Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
  • Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
  • Oversee patients’ overall health
  • Promote good health practices
  • Discharge patients in timely fashion

Skills

  • Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a clinic, hospital, ER or other setting
  • Expertise in primary care, acute care, chronic care practices, cardiology experience preferred
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Team spirit with a positive attitude
  • Patience and cool-headedness
  • Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
  • Valid nurse practitioner license
  • Master’s degree; PhD is a plus
