A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN

As an Optometric Technician, you give our patients a great first impression of our office. You are friendly and warm as you welcome our patients into their exam and get them ready for the optometrist. Ensuring quality patient care is your top priority. As such, you explain all preliminary tests and answer questions thoughtfully. You are thorough as you perform pretests, including autorefraction, noncontact tonometry, auto lensometry, and optomap, as well as get basic prescription information. You keep accurate patient records and properly maintain all equipment. You love interacting with our patients while developing your optometry skills!

OPTOMETRIC TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of optometric pretesting, including autorefraction, NCT, and auto lensometry
