Child Care Worker Full-Time FOUR DAY WORK WEEK FOR SCHOLARS AND EMPLOYEESCartwright School District is the second-largest elementary school district in Arizona, with over 14,000 culturally diverse students in Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade classrooms. JOB GOAL Incumbents are responsible for providing quality childcare and instruction in a day care setting and may be responsible for adhering to ADHS codes and statutes.
Qualifications
  • Must have a fingerprint card and the TB test, and First Aid/CPR, and Food Handlers Card
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
  • 6 months experience in a licensed child care or Preschool facility
Performance Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and assisting children with activities.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
  • Provides care and instruction to promote academic and social/emotional growth.
  • Monitors children’s behavior and safety inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Assists with clean-up and other related tasks following daily activities.
  • Prepares classroom for activities, including creating lessons and preparing materials.
  • Creates bulletin boards, maintains materials and supplies, contacts parents and may make copies.
  • May attend in-service training sessions.
  • Covers classrooms when there are staff absences
  • Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing. Incumbents may be subjected to blood and other body fluids.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Knowledge And Skills
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of applicable Cartwright School District and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
  • Monitoring and assisting children with activities.
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
