Job Description: Purpose: Crane Operator is a skilled position. All training for this position is done on the job, and no prior equipment licenses are necessary. A standard driver’s license is required. As a Crane Operator, you will be trained and certified to operator an indoor Crane. You may also be required, at times, to help in other departments as needed. Core Accountabilities: Able to load/unload cartons of product from and place on conveyor systems, U-carts and/or cages and learn to operate material handling equipment Put cartons away in backstock and pull cartons as needed Able to use the basic function of a computer or hand-held scanner Able to comprehend, in English, number and/or letter sequences Able to pay attention to detail Able to remain flexible to change and willing to move around to other areas within Distribution Center Must be detail oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy Must be able to achieve at least 75% of productivity goal Responsible for tracking individual production Able to work independently or as part of a team Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Some distribution experience preferred Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that are required by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to stand and walk moderate distances for 8-10 hours continuously on concrete floors While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to climb, bend, stretch, talk, hear, push/pull, squat, twist, turn, stoop and use hands to handle or feel; as well as reach and lift with hands and arms to reach above shoulder/head level and/or overhead Able to lift over 25 - 50lbs on a continual basis for 8-10 hours and display safe working behaviors Able to write legibly and read, in some cases small print, numbers and letters and identify colors Able to count Able to communicate with co-workers and supervisory staff Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position requiring regular attendance and punctuality which includes a work week consisting of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Weekend work is required as well as mandatory over time during periods of high volume.
