CarShield is seeking a UX / Web Designer to join its growing creative IT team. This role will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing websites, web applications, apps, and similar projects to ensure an intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly experience for our customers. You will collaborate closely with our creative team and cross-functional teams including IT, developers, marketers and stakeholders to bring our designs to life.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position is responsible for:

• Design, develop and maintain visually appealing and user-friendly front-end websites and web applications using WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies.
• Create custom graphics, icons, and other visual elements for websites, web applications, and user interfaces using Adobe Creative Cloud software.
• Ensure designs are in compliance with all accessibility guidelines and uphold design and usability standards.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively.
• Implement UI/UX best design principles.
• Translate design mockups and wireframes into functional web applications.
• Optimize websites for performance, speed, and responsiveness across different devices and browsers.
• Test and troubleshoot websites, web applications, and user interfaces for usability and functionality.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with all teams and managers to understand project requirements and goals.
• Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end components and to improve usability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on designs, gathering feedback, and incorporating changes to improve product.
• Effectively convey and present design concepts and ideas to non-design stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot technical problems associated with web pages and applications.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements for UX / Web Designer:

• Must be able to work in-office in St. Peters, MO;
• 5 years' experience in UX / Web Design role;
• Experience creating wireframes and high-fidelity mockups / prototypes in Figma.
• Strong understanding of front-end technologies such as Wordpress, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, Angular, JavaScript, jQuery and Bootstrap.
• Familiarity using Adobe Creative Cloud software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.
• A positive attitude with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
• Proven experience with portfolio showcasing work.
• Basic understanding of personas, web analytics, email marketing, and how each category ties back into UX/UI & Web Design.
• Familiarity with SEO principles and practices.
• Familiarity with web analytics tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Agile and waterfall development methodologies.
• Experience in E-commerce.
• Stays updated with industry trends, best practices, new design tools, and emerging technologies to enhance design processes and outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
