CARRS TREE SERVICE INC is Hiring an Equipment Operator - Lakeville Near Lakeville, MN

Job Description:
Carr's Tree Service, a leading provider of tree care services in the region, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. As an equipment operator, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely operating various equipment to assist in tree removal, trimming, and other related tasks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and safety of our tree service operations.
Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment including but not limited to: chainsaw, chipper, stump grinder, bucket truck, grapple truck, skid loader, toolcat, and more.
  • Safely operate equipment to assist in tree removal, trimming, and related tasks
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents or damage to property
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure its proper functioning
  • Collaborate with the tree service crew to ensure efficient and smooth operations
  • Utilize equipment to move heavy materials, logs, and debris on job sites
  • Follow instructions and specifications from supervisors or project managers
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clear understanding of tasks, objectives, and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Drive equipment to and from job sites
  • Take part in pre-job briefing with crew assessing each work zone for hazard potential.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned


Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating chainsaw, chipper, stump grinder, bucket truck, grapple truck, skid loader, toolcat, or similar heavy equipment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to heavy equipment operation
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
  • Certification or training in operating heavy equipment is highly desirable

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbal and in writing, with the general public, - customers, and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to enter and exit a vehicle/equipment numerous times per day.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks such as rain, heat, sun, cold, snow. Including working in varying temperatures: 90F to -25F.
  • Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
  • Ability to climb trees for limbing or topping using spikes/belts/ropes.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and drag tree limbs/branches/brush and feed into brush chipper.
  • Stand and walk up to 2 hours at a time.
  • Working near or under high-voltage energized power lines.
  • Withstand heights up to 60 feet.
  • Ability to work in conditions/areas that may include dust, pollen, smoke, noxious weeds, poison ivy, bees, and other insects.
  • Must be able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
  • Drive and operate vehicles and equipment within DOT, OSHA, and manufacturer regulations.
