Additional Information : Job Title : Supervisor of Student Services - Health Services Pay Schedule : Administrator & Supervisor (APSASCCO), Lane VI FLSA Status : Exempt Reports to : Director of Student Services JOB SUMMARY The Supervisor of Student Services - Health Services has primary responsibility for health services program development and implementation, professional learning, community engagement, and consultative services. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervises and assists with observation and evaluation of all health services staff
  • Provides leadership in developing, improving, and evaluating, the health services program
  • Assists in the identification and selection of trained and qualified health services personnel
  • Manages day-to-day operations of health services in schools
  • Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community agencies and organizations, diverse groups, and individuals to foster understanding and support for program objectives
  • Stays current with clinical practices, laws and regulations in school health and updates CCPS practices and regulations accordingly
  • Interprets and implements health services related administrative procedures consistent with federal and state law, State Board of Education and local school board policy and administrative regulations to arrive at appropriate outcomes for students
  • Maintains and revises the Health Services Manual and supporting procedures and documents relating to health services
  • Coordinates AED Program and corresponding CPR training for staff
  • Performs delegated management duties related to fiscal operations, inventories, grants, data collection / analysis, and keeps records within established guidelines
  • Prepares data for annual reports as required by local, state, and federal regulations
  • Develops and implements professional learning to ensure staff are equipped with sound health services practices, possess an understanding of current procedures, and enhance professional growth
  • Completes other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred
  • Current RN license in the state of Maryland
  • Three (3) years of experience in school health
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid Certification

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with children, parents, staff, and other professionals
  • Ability to manage many details, make professional judgement regarding life threatening situations and mange stressful situations
  • Ability to work with persons from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to provide leadership and stability to field staff for program continuity
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to lead adult groups; provide training and technical assistance to administrative and clerical staff
  • Ability to monitor, analyze and evaluate program systems and procedures, making and coordinating appropriate changes
  • Knowledge of Windows and applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and descriptively
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently, work a flexible schedule and travel throughout Carroll County using personal vehicle

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Sedentary Work : Exerting minimal but not constant physical effort to perform sedentary work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking and may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and / or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (5 to 10 pounds), visual perception and discrimination, the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, perceive and discriminate color, perceive odors, and require oral communications WORKING CONDITIONS Employees in this position work in an environment where the employee may deal with crisis situations that require major decisions involving people, resources, and property.
