Requirement: Certified Nursing Assistant License and Certified Medication Technician Certification

I. Responsibilities

a. Provides activities of daily living assistance to the residents as directed from each resident’s service plan.

b. Assist in monitoring the medication program.

c. Keep records updated in the medication administrative files.

d. Set up and assist with self-administration of medication.

e. Order and receive medication.

f. Keep all medications in their appropriate storage areas and keep medication carts, cupboards and doors locked always.

g. Regularly review the resident’s medication administration record, centrally stored record, pharmacy transaction record, and report any errors to the supervisor.

h. Keep medication files and medical records current and up to date.

i. Regular, ongoing communication with the pharmacy, families, residents and supervisor.

j. Provides verbal encouragement and support to residents.

k. Prioritizes verbal encouragement and support to residents.

l. Prioritizes tasks to ensure optimum services to residents as requests and needs change.

m. Communicate to supervisor when a resident’s need has changed.

n. Under the Universal Worker Model, the caregiver’s responsibilities can also include housekeeping and dining room duties.

o. Assists with activity program.

p. Attend all mandatory trainings.

q. Chart on each resident as necessary.

r. Adheres to all policies and procedures of Carriage Crossing Senior Living.

s. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

t. Adhere to all HIPAA compliance
