Part time position (30 hours/week, M-F 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.) at Carpenter's Place, a Christian faith-based organization in Rockford that works with homeless adults, serving breakfast and lunch every weekday. An essential part of the position is interacting well with donors and volunteers who help to provide, prepare, and serve meals on a daily basis. The ability to multi-task and work respectfully with clients is necessary. If not certified in food sanitation, must be eligible to obtain certification within 4 months of employment. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required for work-related duties. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds are also fundamental to the position. Experience in food service, and experience working in an environment that serves homeless adults dealing with addictions and mental health issues is preferred.
