Carpenter/Robbins Commercial Real Estate is Hiring a Director of Operations Near San Ramon, CA

Carpenter/Robbins Commercial Real Estate, Inc., located in San Ramon, California, seeks an individual
to run the day-to-day operations of the firm.
We specialize in representing government entities and businesses in their real estate requirements. We
currently have 16 people in the organization and are growing. Our associates have 10-30 years of
business experience in a variety of backgrounds including real estate, property management, government
contracting and real estate development.
We are looking for an individual who has a minimum of 10 years of business and financial experience,
including 5 years of upper management experience, preferably in commercial real estate or government
services work. Someone who is professional, eager to learn, can effectively multi-task and is extremely
detailed oriented. This position will be required to contribute strategically as part of a management team
to assist the company in running efficiently and productively while staying on track financially. Strong
communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with senior level executives, both
internally and externally.

Job Summary:
The Director of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the
organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems
to meet current and future needs of the organization.
Supervisory Responsibi l i t ies:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management-level staff in the company. Involved with
interviewing and hiring process for all positions within the company.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the company.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibi l it ies:
  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the organization’s
operations division.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying
expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and
objectives.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to
improve and streamline higher level organizational processes and use of resources and
materials.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing,
development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line
with the organization’s business plan and vision.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements higher level operations-related policies,
practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and
execution.
  • Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for
projects.

  • Establishes and administers the department’s budget.
  • Establishes and administers business operations and medical/dental/vision insurance policies
and reporting requirements.
  • Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other
executive leadership.
  • Maintains all required company registrations and licensing for business and government
contract requirements.
  • Maintains monthly, quarterly and/or annual reporting requirements for government contracts.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided in
collaboration with other Managers in the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills, having the ability to work with a variety of clients
across the country.
  • Detail Oriented, self-motivated, independent thinker, strong interpersonal skills with the ability

  • Comfortable coordinating work with remote workers across several time zones
  • Positive professional can do attitude and active team player in a small office environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities simultaneously with efficiency
Skills Required:
Must be highly proficient in the following platforms and software:
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Quickbooks
  • Google Platform (Calendar, Meets, Gmail, Drive)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Zoom
  • DocuSign
  • CoStar, LoopNet, REIS market research platforms a plus
  • Tech savvy and the ability to learn new/proprietary software programs
Educat ion and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent a must, Masters in Business
Administration degree a plus
At least 10 years of financial and operations experience including five years in upper management
required.
Commercial Real Estate and/or Government Contracting background a plus
Job hours: Monday thru Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Pacific Standard Time. We currently have a hybrid
working schedule which may be modified from time to time based on work requirements.
