Carpenter Company is Hiring a Quality Control Technician- 2nd shift Near Allentown, PA

Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for a first shift Quality Control Inspector at our Allentown, Pa manufacturing plant reporting to the Quality Manager. This position is responsible for inspecting and documenting all aspects of production departments’ compliance to the Quality Management Program (QMP) and the departments’ compliance to all customers’ specifications. The QC Inspector will communicate with the Quality Manager and department Managers/Supervisors and personnel daily. This position works in a normal manufacturing environment.

Position Description

  • Inspect raw material, in-process material, finished goods, dimensional, first article and final article(s);
  • Conduct internal audits of the QMP, process, and products of inventory;
  • Implement process improvements and monitor for effectiveness of implementation;
  • Collect and analyze data using statistical process control (SPC);
  • Quality Control/Quality Assurance;
  • Ensure compliance to customers’ specification;
  • Processing customer returns;
  • Read and interpret customer and internal dimensional specification;
  • Basic computer work in MS Excel and Word;
  • Other duties assigned as required by management.

Requirements and Experience

  • High school education or GED;
  • 1-2 years of Quality Control experience preferred;
  • Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure;
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of Excel and Word;
  • Must able to read and write English;
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, as needed.
