Summary of Role/Position

As the Assistant Director of Warehouse Operations in our e-commerce organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring our warehouse's smooth and efficient operation. You will work closely with the Director of Warehouse Operations to manage day-to-day activities, optimize processes, and maintain a high level of performance to support our e-commerce business.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

Assist in planning, organizing, and managing all warehouse operations to meet the needs of the e-commerce business.
Supervise and lead a team of warehouse staff, including supervisors, pickers, packers, and other support personnel.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and operational procedures.

Process Optimization:

Continuously evaluate and improve warehouse processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
Implement best practices in inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and resolve operational challenges.

Inventory Management:

Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counts, stock replenishment, and return management.
Monitor inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.
Ensure accuracy in inventory records and maintain appropriate stock levels to fulfill e-commerce orders.

Performance Metrics:

Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure warehouse performance.
Analyze data and generate reports to assess operational efficiency and make data-driven decisions.

Vendor and Carrier Relations:

Manage relationships with third-party vendors, carriers, and logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective shipping and receiving processes.
Negotiate contracts and service agreements as needed.

Staff Development:

Recruit, train, and develop warehouse personnel to foster a high-performing team.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA, and maintain a safe working environment.
Implement safety training programs and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in warehouse operations management, preferably in an e-commerce
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of e-commerce and supply chain trends is a plus.
