Carondelet High School is Hiring a Marketing and Communications Manager Near Concord, CA

Job Summary:
The Marketing and Communications Manager is a member of the creative, dynamic Marketing and Communications team and reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of marketing and technical knowledge and experience, while also having extraordinary interpersonal skills. This position will collaborate with teams across campus from both the academic and business side. This is a full time, year round, exempt position.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lives the mission of the school, in the CSJ tradition, through a thorough knowledge and understanding of the mission, vision, and values of Carondelet High School
  • Is an equity-focused, inclusive staff member with the ability to support an environment where a growth mindset is a prominent presence in all aspects of school life
  • Embraces the school’s culture of philanthropy
  • Aggregates the Weekly e-News and other communications
  • Collects, cultivates, and reports on student stories, school happenings, and events
  • Creates regular, engaging social media posts across all platforms
  • Handles operational web updates (calendar, pages, photos, copy, and other content) for both the main and Athletics websites and trains internal users
  • Adept at developing and writing newsletter, social media, and website content and stories
  • Generates digital forms and trains internal users
  • Promotes events and provides onsite MarCom support (e.g., photos, social, and videos)
  • Supports video shoots to create on-brand campaign videos
  • Coordinates school store promotions and supports supervisor in management of the store

Social Media:
  • Creates and manages a social media plan that publishes audience-centric content for relevant social media channels
  • Generates, edits, publishes, collaborates, and shares engaging on-brand content daily
  • Performs research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Designs and implements social media strategy to align with business goals
  • Communicates with followers, responds to queries in a timely manner, and monitors community reviews and feedback
  • Suggests and implements new content and features to develop brand awareness
  • Stays up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications


Website
Management:
  • Develops and maintains the school website working collaboratively with the MarCom team and other staff to keep content fresh and relevant for all constituents
  • Troubleshoots website issues, and reaches out to the vendor’s team as needed

Data Analytics:
  • Develops a framework and system for tracking website and social media analytics
  • Interprets data to recommend adjustments to email campaigns and online strategies for MarCom initiatives in an effort to increase traffic, followers, and key audience engagement
  • Monitors email bounce backs and work with data analysts to ensure data integrity across all platforms
  • In collaboration with the MarCom team, creates effective search engine optimization (SEO) and social media optimization (SMO) annual strategy plans and tracks and reports monthly progress
  • Partners with the Director of Strategic MarCom to define campaign KPIs and digital specific measurement approaches that enable measurement of key outcomes

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in art, communications, design, digital media, journalism, marketing, media technology, or a related field with 3-6 years of relevant position experience (nonprofit and/or education experience a plus)
  • Strong communication skills including verbal, listening, written, and attention to detail
  • Success with leveraging digital marketing initiatives to grow audiences and engagement
  • A motivated, self-starter with a proactive approach who is able to work independently and collaboratively with a team to meet deadlines and deliver on expectations
  • Ability to build relationships and work in partnership with various stakeholders
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, accountability, and ability to problem solve
  • Ability to take direction and is receptive to constructive feedback
  • Facilitates decision-making and approval processes in a timely manner
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • This is a full time, year round exempt position with benefits

Technical Skill Set and Experience:

  • Ability to use content management and collaboration tools like Google Workspace
  • Fluency on a Mac, Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Photoshop and Lightroom), and Canva
  • Email marketing (Constant Contact or similar platform)
  • Form builder and creator (Jotform or similar platform)
  • Design tools (Canva) and project management tools (ClickUp or similar platform)
  • Photography and Videography and sharing tools (SmugMug)
  • Social media and website platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, etc.)
