Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking an Entry Level Structural CAD Drafter to help with the production of Structural Design Documents.

This position is an entry level drafting position for a CAD Technician. The job calls for providing assistance to engineering and design staff in the preparation of contract engineering drawings and other related engineering materials. Position requires a fundamental understanding of drafting practices and drawing presentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural design layouts including cast-in-place and precast concrete, CMU, structural steel, and aluminum members in 2D drawings from sketches provided by engineers and senior design staff
• Utilize basic 2D/3D CAD/BIM tools to support drawing layouts

• Follows the Carollo/Client CAD Drawing Production Standards

• Coordination of drawing production activities between all disciplines at the project level
• Provide quality checking of drafted products and conformance with drawing production standards and project specific CAD requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1‐2 years’ experience working in engineering design
• Highly motivated self-starter, results-driven and teamwork oriented
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Detail oriented, organized and have good follow-up skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the development of 2D structural design drawings and a working knowledge of 3D design concepts
• General understanding of structural design and the interface between structural components and process mechanical equipment and piping
• Exposure to Autodesk Revit Structure or Bentley AECOsim/OpenBuildings Designer
• Proficient with AutoCAD or MicroStation 2D functions

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of concrete reinforcing standards such as CRSI and ACI 318
• Familiar with AISC weld symbols and their application
• Basic understanding of engineering drawing development in water and wastewater facilities
• Associate degree in related technical field

Pay Range

$26.00 to $29.00 per hour. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
