As a Dog Kennel Technician in Whiteville, you'll play a vital role in the care and well-being of dogs under our supervision. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks related to the daily operations of the kennel facility. Below are the key duties:
Primary Responsibilities:
Dog Care: Provide basic care for dogs, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinarians or pet owners.
Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kennel areas, including dog runs, sleeping quarters, and common spaces. This includes regular cleaning of floors, walls, bedding, and other surfaces.
Exercise and Play: Engage dogs in regular exercise routines and play sessions to promote physical activity and mental stimulation.
Monitoring: Keep a close watch on the health and behavior of dogs, identifying any signs of illness, injury, or distress. Report observations to supervisors promptly.
Basic Grooming: Assist with basic grooming tasks such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming, ensuring dogs are kept clean and comfortable during their stay.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of each dog's feeding schedule, medication administration, exercise routines, and any notable observations regarding health or behavior.
Customer Service: Interact with pet owners professionally and courteously, providing updates on their pets' well-being and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
Facility Maintenance: Assist with general maintenance tasks such as landscaping, painting, and repairs to ensure the kennel facility remains safe and well-maintained.
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience working with animals, particularly dogs, is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) throughout the workday. Comfort with bending, stooping, and kneeling is essential.
