Job Description:
We are seeking a Hazwoper Technician to join our team in Riegelwood, NC. As a Hazwoper Technician, you will be responsible for handling hazardous materials, implementing safety protocols, and responding to emergency situations related to hazardous waste.
Responsibilities:
Perform hazardous waste operations according to OSHA regulations and company policies.
Conduct site assessments and identify hazardous materials.
Implement and maintain safety protocols for hazardous waste handling.
Operate equipment for hazardous waste cleanup and disposal.
Respond to emergency situations involving hazardous materials.
Coordinate with team members and external agencies during emergency response.
Conduct training sessions on hazardous waste management for employees.
Maintain records of hazardous waste operations and disposal activities.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
Requirements:
Hazwoper certification (40-hour or 24-hour) required.
Experience in hazardous waste operations and emergency response preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to hazardous materials.
Ability to work in a team and follow safety protocols.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical ability to handle hazardous materials and operate equipment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Willingness to undergo background checks and drug testing.
Additional Information:
This position may require working in hazardous environments and responding to emergency situations outside of regular working hours. Training and equipment will be provided for job-specific tasks.
