General Summary

The Supervisor Concrete Plant Production manages the day-to-day operations of a ready mixed facility and its respective staff. The incumbent will monitor daily production, quality control, maintenance, safety, and personnel associated with the facility. This role supervises direct reports’ work assignments and the performance management appraisal process. This job requires the employee to be on call at all times to ensure issues are addressed in a rapid and error free manner. The individual must be available to work any schedule and have the ability to resolve any unscheduled maintenance issues. Early starts and late evenings are common, especially during peak season. The incumbent must practice absolute confidentiality. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks as assigned and directed by Manager Concrete Operations and Manager Concrete Production. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) may be required. This job description provides an overview of responsibilities and task to be performed. Education and/or Experience

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with one (1) to three (3) years experience is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Current North Carolina Driver’s License required
• Class B CDL preferred, with air brake endorsement
• Ability to obtain NCDOT Field Technician certification
• Ability to obtain NCDOT Batch Technician certification
• Ability to obtain NC Weighmaster license

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Ability to read and interpret documents, in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization in English.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Mechanically and electrically inclined.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in diagram form or through verbal instruction.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail and recordkeeping utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel.
