CAROLINA HOME MEDICAL is Hiring an Installer/Technician Near Bern, NC

Job Summary:

Carolina Home Medical is looking for a full-time Durable Medical Equipment Installer/Technician.

This position is responsible for the installation of stairlifts, and ramps. In addition, this position is responsible for the delivery/set-up of medical equipment and equipment repair. Experience is a plus but not required.

Excellent customer service skills are a must. General ability to use hand tools required. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform site surveys for potential customers to evaluate service ability.
  • Diagnose customer problems at service calls.
  • Install new customers with ramps, vehicle lifts, stairlifts, vertical platform, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements:

  • Must be professional in dress, speech, and manner.
  • Must have previous experience working in outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to work independently, using sound judgement principles.
  • Must demonstrate accountability in order to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-change environment while managing multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.
  • Must demonstrate a desire to learn.
  • Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to use tools to install equipment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Work Environment/Hazards:

  • Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind
  • In proximity of heavy machinery
  • Moderate noise level
  • Use of PPE
  • Physical Demands:
  • Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more
  • Ascending or descending stairs, ramps, using feet, legs and/or hands and arms
  • Must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight repeatedly
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and work in an elevated position
  • Frequently required to use hand and power tools
