Responsibilities:

• Classroom Support: Work closely with lead teachers and grade-level teams to ensure a vibrant, organized, and safe classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success.

• Lesson Preparation: Assist in preparing materials and lessons as directed by lead teachers, ensuring that instructional activities are engaging and aligned with educational goals.

• Curriculum Assistance: Familiarize yourself with the curriculum to provide support to students, including answering questions, facilitating small group instruction, and offering feedback for improvement.

• Positive Environment: Create a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere in the classroom and hallways, encouraging student-driven learning and collaboration.

• Professional Growth: Demonstrate a growth mindset by actively seeking opportunities for professional development, including attending workshops, visiting other schools, and observing experienced teachers.

• Technological Proficiency: Embrace school technology and utilize it effectively to enhance learning experiences for students.

• Lead Teacher Role: Step into the lead teacher role when necessary, ensuring continuity and quality of instruction in the absence of the lead teacher.

Other Duties:

• Actively participate in staff development programs, curriculum meetings, and other professional activities to maintain professional competence.

• Engage in various student and parent activities within the school community to foster positive relationships and support student development.

• Represent Carolina Day School positively and professionally both on and off campus.

• Contribute to creating an effective learning environment through visually appealing displays and activity centers.

• Fulfill any additional duties assigned by school administration.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in education or a related field.

• Prior experience working in a school setting is advantageous.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• This role may involve occasional standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
