Carolina Core Machine is Hiring a Shipping/Receiving Specialist Near Reidsville, NC

The Shipping/Receiving Specialist for Carolina Core Machine plays a pivotal role in managing the movement of goods within a company. Reporting to the Director of Quality and EHS, they are responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and processing them for storage or distribution. Additionally, they oversee the packaging and shipping of outgoing orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to customers or other recipients. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Receiving Operations: Receive incoming shipments of materials, supplies, products and services.
  • Verify the accuracy of received items by comparing them to packing lists, purchase orders, or other documentation as required.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Unload delivery trucks and transfer items to designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as needed.
  • Record received goods in inventory management systems and update records accordingly.
  • Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory storage areas to ensure efficient utilization of space.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts to reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed to prevent stockouts.
  • Rotate stock and follow FIFO (first in, first out) principles to minimize waste and spoilage.
  • Implement measures to prevent loss, theft, or damage to inventory.
  • Shipping Operations: Package outgoing orders securely and accurately according to shipping instructions and regulations.
  • Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation for outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers and schedule pickup times for outgoing orders.
  • Load shipments onto trucks or arrange for courier services to ensure timely delivery.
  • Track shipment status and communicate tracking information to relevant parties as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Report any quality issues or deviations from established procedures to supervisors or quality control personnel.
  • Implement corrective actions or process improvements to address quality concerns and prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare all quality documentation required for shipments as required per customer.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and shipping carriers to coordinate logistics activities.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, and sales teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments according to production schedules and customer demands.
  • Aid and support other team members as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Local delivery and pickup as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in working with ERP/MRP systems and/or project management software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Abilit to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to understand flow manufacturing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
  • Strong work ethic
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma (Required)
  • 5 years of experience with shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or related field (Required)
  • 3 years of 5S and lean/flow manufacturing (Preferred)
  • Experience with packaging of Government Contracts (Preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs independently and repetitively.

LOCATION

Company is located in Reidsville, NC 27320. Reasonable commute or planning to relocate before start work is required.
