The OHR Talent Acquisition team is searching for a recruiter to join our team and help us attract, find, and place talented diverse individuals within our world-class institution. The position is dedicated to leading the recruiting and hiring activities for the Division of University Advancement in addition to advancement opportunities embedded within academic or administrative units throughout the university. Reporting to the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition you will be part of a team that provides strategic end-to-end talent acquisition services that have a transformative impact on the university’s ability to achieve its mission and vision. The mission of the Talent Acquisition team at Carnegie Mellon University is to drive efficient, effective hiring practices that allow us to attract, source and select diverse, world-class talent. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing full-cycle recruitment activities including sourcing and screening talent for a variety of staff (non-faculty) positions in the Division of University Advancement as well as advancement opportunities embedded within academic or administrative units throughout the university . This requires strong consultative and collaboration skills in effort to build, sustain, and influence close working relationships with hiring managers, administration, HR Business Partners, and other external partners. Core responsibilities include: Acting as a partner and advisor to hiring managers to create and implement strategies to source and recruit top talent for a variety of staff positions in University Advancement and advancement opportunities across the university Managing the full cycle recruiting process (Creation of position descriptions, job advertisements, sourcing, screening, interviewing, maintaining applicant tracking information, uniting references, negotiating compensation and extending, preparing offer letters, initiation of pre-employment background checks, etc.)Performing candidate management and hiring transactions in Applicant Tracking system (Workday) Ensuring you are providing a seamless, transparent and positive hiring and onboarding experience Serving as the division’s primary liaison with the Office of International Education and external legal counsel on sponsoring H1-B visas, employment-based permanent residency petitions, and other work authorization matters. Collaborating with hiring managers to understand their requirements and goals Applying creative sourcing techniques to find passive candidates and build a diverse pipeline of candidates to consider Screening resumes and interviewing qualified candidates Facilitating interview and hiring discussions with interviewers and hiring managers and making recommendations on hiring decisions Maintaining reports and performance metrics on a regular basis to monitor recruiting, staff retention and staff engagement Ensuring consistent and equitable application of HR policies and government regulations throughout the division by advising supervisors as deemed appropriate Providing HR data to complete benchmarking surveys Maintaining collegial, professional working relationships within the division and with Advancement teams in the academic units Developing tools to help individual departments and business units achieve their goals in encouraging a culture of diversity and inclusion Reviewing and analyzing data to evaluate the effectiveness of existing HR processes and making recommendations for improvements or actions as appropriate Working on special projects to contribute to the overall success of the division Staying current on best HR practices through self-directed professional reading; developing professional contacts with colleagues; participating in local, state and national professional associations; and attending professional development programs Other duties as assigned Flexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within the Office of Human Resources. Required Qualifications: Education: A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, communications, psychology, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. Experience: Recruiter: A minimum of three (3) years of human resources, staffing or recruiting experience. Senior Recruiter: A minimum of five (5) years of human resources, staffing or recruiting experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume, matrixed organization with varied business units and decentralized processes Workday recruiting experience a plus! Technical sourcing and recruiting experience a plus! PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP AIRS Certified Diversity and Inclusion Recruiter Other Requirements: Successful background check Additional Information: This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA. Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in office presence 3 days a week.
