Carnegie Mellon University's department of Athletics is searching for multiple Non-CMU Student Part-Time Casual Lifeguards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position offered during the academic year, from mid-October to mid-May, to provide coverage during CMU break periods and as needed to meet staffing requirements to maintain pool operation. Hourly pay rate is $11.00/hr. Priority consideration and preference will be given for individuals that have familiarity with the Carnegie Mellon community and university facilities.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Ensure the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies

• Exhibit knowledge and application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques

• Understand facilities policies and procedures

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• ARC or YMCA lifeguard training

• ARC Standard First Aid & CPR for Professional Rescuer

• AED Training
