Job Description

Carmines, Robbins & Company, PLC, renowned for delivering exceptional tax and advisory services to small businesses, is in search of an experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in general accounting. This role is not only pivotal in providing comprehensive tax preparation but also in handling a broader spectrum of accounting services. The ideal candidate will have a thorough grasp of accounting principles, tax laws, and a genuine eagerness to assist small businesses in navigating their financial landscapes.

This is a full time role on-site, but offers flexibile work arrangements and remote capability.

Responsibilities

  • Execute detailed tax return preparation for small businesses, ensuring adherence to all compliance standards across various jurisdictions.
  • Offer general accounting services, including bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and payroll services, to support the overall financial health of our clients.
  • Deliver strategic advisory services, focusing on tax planning, advisory, and effective strategies for small business clients.
  • Engage in continuous research to stay abreast of the latest tax legislation and accounting best practices, applying this knowledge to benefit our clients.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to collect necessary documentation for both tax and general accounting purposes.
  • Recommend improvements in clients' processes, including tax optimization strategies and accounting practices.
  • Maintain a commitment to professional development, staying informed about changes in tax laws and accounting standards relevant to small businesses

Skills & Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
  • CPA or EA certification is strongly preffered
  • At least 3 years of solid experience in tax accounting and general accounting services
  • Proficiency in using tax software, accounting software (e.g., QuickBook), and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex accounting and tax issues for clients
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively, both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with trust and estates is a plus
