Position Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for completing duties assigned to provide accurate, timely food service to meet the residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements and to maintain dietary equipment in a safe, sanitary manner. 

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Follow menus and prepare food and beverages. Set up trays and food service carts accurately and timely. Assist in preparing, covering and labeling food.
2. Assist as directed, with preparation and making of salads, baking of desserts, and pouring and covering of beverages as delegated and supervised by the cook.
3. Filling orders for bread, butter, crackers, etc. that are required on serving trays at meals
4. Organize duties to complete tray service in a timely manner.
5. Assure kitchen equipment and surfaces are clean and sanitized according to dietary procedures. This includes washing of dishes, pots and pans, etc. and returning them to proper storage.
6. Store food in compliance with dietary procedures.
7. Upon return of trays to dietary, scraping, spraying and washing dishes, stacking and return of clean dishes to proper storage areas and cleaning of all dishwashing equipment. 
8. See that all supplies are together at the end of each shift for the next days work. This includes preparing silverware for use at next meal.
9. Wear hair net/ beard net at all times.
10. Observe infection control procedures related to the Dietary Department.
11. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
