Under the direction of the County Coordinator, plan, administer, and evaluate the operation of all county buildings, facilities, and adjoining grounds, including budgeting, maintenance, construction, renovation, leasing of properties, and monitoring of contracted property services. Supervise and train all property management department staff. The position is directly responsible for ensuring county compliance with applicable legislation concerning building and program access. It conducts space utilization studies and makes recommendations on policies related to the management of county property, prepares long-range property management plans for consideration by the county board; and develops and evaluates ongoing energy conservation programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A four-year degree in public or business administration; industrial, mechanical, or civil engineering; industrial technology; or a related field, AND four years of progressively responsible building and systems maintenance work experience; OR A two-year degree or equivalent education in a related field, AND eight years of progressively responsible building and systems construction and/or maintenance work experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Two or more years of supervisory experience preferred but not required. Certificates/Licenses Required: Valid driver’s license. Class 2 Boilers License must be obtained within six months of hire.
