On-Call Lead Cook 

We are in search of an On-Call Lead Cook who supports Food Services operations by covering any job function in the department from steward to cook or lead cook. The On-Call Lead cook is cross-trained to function in Food Services operations at both Carlos Rosario Campuses.

Responsibilities: 

• Prepare food that adheres to all food safety and quality standards
• Delegate production tasks to cooks and stewards according to production schedules
• Ensure the quality and integrity of food products leaving the kitchen for the buffet
• Demonstrate excellent customer service 
• Wash, dry, store, and organize kitchen and cafeteria materials 
• Tend a cash register during cafeteria services
• Set up, refill, organize, and clean the cafeteria before and after services
• Empty kitchen cardboard, trash, and grease
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of experience in the culinary arts field (cook, lead cook, or other) or the appropriate combination of education and experience 
• ServSafe certification
• Ability to work as a team player
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and establish task priorities
• Ability to perform moderately heavy manual work
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Good English communication skills (bilingual preferred)
• Certified food handler
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the industry

• Must be able to provide proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination
• Deep commitment to CRIPCS's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners

Ranges from $16.60 to $25.48 per hour
