Carlisle Staffing is Hiring a Production Assistant Near Allyn, WA

Shift: Day shift Monday-Friday (7am to 3:30pm)

Job Description: Part of a 3-person team that assists in mixing, preparation, production and processing of exceptional and flawless products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift and perform repetitive lifting of over 50 lbs.
  • Capable of meeting physical demands for production, which include constant bending, stooping, lifting, and pushing of heavy materials
  • Ability to safely work in close proximity to high temperature machinery. Package sealing machines.
  • Ability to work with required food preparation garments.

Responsibilities:

Working as a part of the production team to:

  • Mix and prepare product:
  • Inspecting ingredients for contamination and adherence to quality standards o Operating hand trucks and lift equipment to maneuver 55-gallon drums
  • Lifting ingredients and product mixes up to 50 lbs.
  • Responsible for accurately weighing ingredients to be mixed for product
  • Ensuring that correct lot codes are on ingredients and properly logging vendor lot codes QA documentation
  • Properly closing, storing and sealing ingredients to maintain quality and integrity of products

Produce and process quality product:

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices during production
  • Labeling all product material in process for accurate batch tracking
  • Taking test samples of product during production process to ensure quality and food safety of product
  • Safely running and operating the production line to create quality product

Identifying problems with product during production and bringing to the Quality Managers attention Clean and Sanitize:

  • Sanitizing all machinery to comply with Food Safety Regulations o Sanitizing and cleaning all mixing tools and equipment
  • Cleaning work area and eliminating possibilities of contamination o Cleaning Mixing area after

Receive Production and Factory materials:

  • Loading and unloading inbound shipments
  • Completing Inbound shipment truck inspection and receiving forms
  • Confirming counts of all inbound materials and matching them with bills of lading / packing lists

Planning and Organizing:

  • Daily duties and tasks are communicated through Production Supervisor, but production assistants must be able to prioritize during shifts based upon greatest needs. Must ensure that all Food Safety Regulations are being met and must be able to follow GMP’s when working.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation to effectively maintain product flow and prevent contamination of product and surfaces.

Problem Solving:

  • Position requires ability to problem solve and troubleshoot during production activities. Requires ability to pay attention to detail and alert supervisory staff when issues arise to ensure timely response to production concerns.

Requirements:

  • Ability to pass math quiz upon interview
  • Understand weights and measurements
  • Ability to comply with Food Safety Regulations
  • Comprehend and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • Ability to follow directions and work safely in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years’ experience in a Production or Manufacturing Environment. Experience working with Food Hygiene and/or Food Sanitation a plus
