The Cook performs all functions necessary to prepare meals according to sound nutritional standards, maintains food service area, materials, food and equipment according to Public Health and Residential Children Facilities standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages the food services and related tasks according to standards for a group of 60 people
Follows posted plans and menus, as set by the Kitchen Manager
Orders and stores food and foodservice supplies and housekeeping supplies as needed, under the instruction of the Kitchen Manager
Cleans kitchen, dining room, equipment and dishes after meals are served
Keeps kitchen and dining room well stocked, clean and organized
Maintains a clean and sanitary work and serving area
Reports to and communicates with agency’s contracted licensed nutritionist and submits required documentation to same in timely manner
Reports problems with appliances and equipment to Kitchen Manage

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma and three years' experience with planning, ordering and preparing food and food service supplies for groups of twenty or more
Must have or be able to obtain a Public Health Food Service Licensure
