Position Summary Working as part of the information security office within the IT department at Caris Life Sciences. The primary purpose of this position is to design, build, implement and support enterprise-class security systems. The security architect's responsibilities include reviewing our current security measures, recommending enhancements, identifying areas of weakness, and responding promptly to possible security breaches. To be a successful security architect, you should be experienced in information security with a strong understanding of security protocols, authentication, and security. You should also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with a wide variety of people. Job Responsibilities An expert understanding of the organization's technology and IT systems. Identifying security gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommending changes or enhancements. Planning, researching, and designing cyber security platforms in a hybrid-cloud environment and define cloud security controls required for cloud adoptions and migrations – preferred AWS Reviews and recommends security configuration and policies for firewalls, VPN systems, routers, IDS/IPS scanning technologies and servers. Researching and designing public key infrastructures, certification authorities, and digital signatures. Developing project timelines for system upgrades and preparing cost estimates. Testing the final security system and updating and upgrading it as needed. Serves as a resource and provides Tier-2/3 support to cybersecurity staff in response to security-related incidents. Monitoring and guiding the security team, cultivating a sense of security awareness, and arranging for continuous education. Lead teams and supervise employee activities as necessary in security efforts. Remaining up to date with the latest security systems, standards, authentication protocols, products, developing regulatory concerns, and changing security trends. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required 10 years in Information Security in a hybrid-cloud environment Strong skills securing a AWS cloud environment, Azure, and Google cloud platform Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Familiarity with ISMS and security frameworks, particularly the NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks. Excellent understanding of fundamental information security concepts and technology. Excellent working knowledge of current IT risks, security implementations, and computer operating and software programs and network security Conditions of Employment: Individuals must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification. Preferred Qualifications CCSP, CISSP, CNDA, GCSA, AWS or similar certification is preferred. Maters degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience. Excellent teaching, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to excel in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment. Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail. Annual Hiring Range $150,000 - $190,000 Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
