New Hope Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Cedar Park, TX is seeking an energetic, creative, self-directed Activities Director to enrich the lives of our resident's quality of life. The candidate should have the following characteristics and or experience.

JOB SUMMARY:

Plans, coordinates and directs an ongoing program of activities designed to meet the physical, mental, social, recreational, and religious needs of the residents; recruits, trains, and supervises the volunteer program of the facility, completes documentation as required by State and Federal requirements.

CERTIFICATION:

Activity Director Job Requirements: Certification as required by State regulations for activities.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

·Prepare monthly newsletter for distribution to all residents and families.

·Develop and pursues a varied program of meaningful activities and events that is balanced in the physical, spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, vocational and cognitive elements.

·Meets and greets each person upon move-in to welcome them and their family and friends to the facility.

·Recruits’ community groups to come into the Facility such as pet therapy, schools, churches and entertainers.

·Decorates the common areas for special events and holidays.

·Conducts individual and group interactions.

·Maintains Activity Budget

·Resident assessments

·Attends weekly Care Plan Meetings

·Documents on Resident participation

·Compassionate spirit and enthusiasm for working with the elderly.

·Experience working with seniors.

·Proficient in written and verbal English.

·Computer experience and ability to-use or learn to use software programs.

·MDS experience preferred but not required.

SCHEDULE: Flexible days between the hours of 8:30AM-5PM and an occasional weekend
