Caribou Biosciences is Hiring a Corporate Communications Intern - Summer 2024 Near Berkeley, CA

Caribou Biosciences is a leading clinical-stage CRISPR genome-editing biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing transformative therapies for patients with devastating diseases. Our next-generation genome-editing technology enables superior precision to develop cell therapies that are armored to potentially improve antitumor activity. We believe the future of cell therapy is off-the-shelf, and we are advancing our pipeline of off-the-shelf, or allogeneic, cell therapies from our CAR-T and CAR-NK platforms as readily available treatments for patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors.

We are seeking an intern to join our investor relations and corporate communications team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop conference planning, social media calendar planning, news monitoring, and material development based on corporate messaging
  • Support execution of communications plans with the investor relations and corporate communications team
  • Track, coordinate with speakers, and plan for industry, medical, scientific and investor conferences
  • Research and provide background information on reporters, investors, and analysts ahead of media interviews and investor/analyst meetings and conferences
  • Read daily news coverage on Caribou, peers, and industry and use to prepare media monitoring reports for internal review, then distribution
  • Develop communications materials (press releases, emails, Q&As, website text, corporate presentation, social media posts) based on corporate messaging
  • Manage social media calendar and planning
  • Maintain and organize storage of materials on company’s shared storage platform
  • Help schedule and observe a speaker training session
  • Assess peers’ communications materials and present recommendations at the end of the internship

Qualifications:

  • Completed sophomore or junior year in an accredited university program, focused on business, communications, scientific majors
  • Solid integrity, judgement, and management of confidential information

Optional qualifications:

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations in Power Point
  • Analytical skills for understanding content and presenting in clear way
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn something new each day
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills, ability to multitask, attention to detail
  • Prior experience in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom/Teams, social media platforms (LinkedIn, X)
