Caribe Royale is Hiring a Cafeteria Supervisor - Caribe Royale Orlando Hotel Near Orlando, FL

Scope of Position

The primary responsibility of the Cafeteria Supervisor is to supervise the daily operations of the Oasis Cafeteria and ensure high quality standards and associate satisfaction. The Supervisor must possess customer service skills as they are interacting with internal guests and/or vendors. He/she must also have a desire to attain cleanliness in all areas of the Food and Beverage operations and apply hotel standards and procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a resort environment.
  • Prior cafeteria or food and beverage experience is required.
  • Outstanding and professional customer service skills.
  • Food handling certificate is an asset.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of equipment/machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all encounters with associates and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Perform serving and stocking duties.
  • Assist management in training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching associates.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other associates.
  • Assures presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards.
  • Setup, maintain and break down salad bar and hot food line.
  • Maintain refrigerator in clean, organized manner, with all food items labeled and dated.
  • Supervise the upkeep of the cafeteria including but not limited to tables, chairs, serving utensils and service line, before and after cafeteria hours.
  • Ensures hot and cold food items are kept in compliance with company standards and meet all sanitation and safety requirements.
  • Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.
  • Contributes to the development of processes and procedures of the Oasis Cafeteria.
  • Dispose of waste as per the hotel standards and adhere to recycling guidelines.
  • Clean, sanitize and close workstations.
  • Always practice proper food handling procedures, cleaning and storage of containers, use of cleaning chemicals & PPEs.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Able to handle high heat and moisture.
  • Knowledge of basic food handling policies and procedures as well as the techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques, proper chemical handling, and sanitation standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be physically fit in order to lift, pull and push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Also requires reaching overhead/standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift.

This is a summary of the main responsibilities for the Cafeteria Supervisor position. Business demands dictate work hours and schedules. Attendance and timeliness are a requirement of this position. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time, in order to meet our guests' needs. I understand that I must also adhere to the property service standards, as well as grooming and uniform standards specific to this position, always maintaining a neat and clean appearance. I will also adhere to any OSHA (safety) practices and wear any assigned PPE (personal protective equipment) as needed.
