Role Summary

Technical Manager Software Project Management role within the Software organization is intended for an individual with broad background in embedded software development, significant experience with project management and software lunch management experience for mass production.

Technical Manager Software Project Management role will be responsible for achieving project objectives of on time, on spec, on budget and on quality deliveries and will be responsible for coordinating internal meetings with software team members and coordinate task with international development team and contract manufacturing plants (for EOL and DV/PV software).

Role Responsibilities

ECU Software Project Management

  • Responsible for achieving project objectives of on time, on spec, on budget and on quality deliveries
  • Responsible to prepare, maintain and track formal project plans including schedules and deliverables, including those from the EE, ME, HW TPM and other teams as needed.
  • Communicate engineering requirements, specifications, project schedule, and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management and consultants
  • Responsible for project, resource planning, reporting and escalation
  • Support SW project team in procuring new Hardware (HW) / Software (SW) tools and working with corresponding vendors in setting up the same.
  • Work with SoC silicon vendors for the on-going projects in getting technical support with respect to HW and SW for those SoCs.
  • Administer a formal review process to validate each development phase has completed successfully, and the product is ready for the next phase
  • Test/Assembly process support: test code verification, test automation, bug reporting, test process improvements and cost reductions.

SoC Software Project Management

  • Responsible to prepare, maintain and track formal project plans including schedules and deliverables for on-going SoC development activities.
  • Work with SoC silicon partners for the on-going projects in getting technical support with respect to HW and SW for those SoCs.
  • Communicate engineering requirements, specifications, project schedule, and budget constraints to cross-functional teams, including engineers, senior management and consultants

Years of Experience

  • 10 years of experience with embedded Software development and technical software project management
  • 2 years of experience working with manufacturing partner for End of line and DV/PV software

Required Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

Desired Education

  • Masters Degree in Engineering

Required Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of establishing project schedule, financial parameters and technical requirements, managing project from initiation to mass production.
  • Excellent strategically thinking and communication skills.
  • Deep knowledge of embedded software architecture for HPC SoC and software development processes.
  • Deep understanding of software platform development and corresponding software. Experienced with introduction into mass production of the same.
  • Knowledge of typical vehicle EE architectures and automotive development processes.
  • Knowledge of functional safety concept (ISO26262) and implementation of same in software.
  • Knowledge of embedded system software architecture, real-time operating systems, and web framework components and its interfaces
  • Knowledge of connected HPC software components and its peripherals
  • Knowledge of connected vehicle infotainment and communication software systems.
  • Programming languages C, C , Java, HTML5, and script languages

Desired Skills

  • Test/Assembly process support: test code verification, test automation, bug reporting, test process improvements and cost reductions
  • Rapid prototyping and validation

Work Flexibility

  • Travel to worldwide locations required

Compensation

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, credentials or certifications, industry-based experience, qualification and training. In the city of Santa Clara, California, the salary range for this position is $170,600 - $221,500.
