Software Developer I – Ohio

CareStar, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer in the CSIS Department to create dynamic custom healthcare applications. This individual will lead a collaborative development team to create high quality software within stated deadlines, work with business and product owners to understand the business value and priorities, and produce software that creates value for the customer.

THE POSITION

CareStar is looking for motivated individuals who/to:

  • Collaborates with CareStar staff to analyze information, workflow needs, and identifies areas of opportunity for improvement.
  • Actively participates in Agile/Scrum processes. 
  • Converts business requirements into software with guidance from CSIS staff. 
  • Maintains software that meets CareStar and CareStar Information System’s business needs and objectives. 
  • Participates in the rollout of hardware and software projects. 
  • Maintains awareness of system information, changes, and updates; ensures consistent adherence to hardware and software standards. 
  • Serves on work groups, committees, or other task forces and attends meetings as requested. 
  • Adheres to the CareStar Rule in performance of job responsibilities.
  • Understands and complies with CareStar Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality as related to patient information. Any disclosures of confidential information made unlawfully outside the proper course of duty will be treated as a serious disciplinary offense.
  • Follows the Acceptable Use Policy while using any information systems owned or controlled by CareStar, Inc.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computer or related field or equivalent professional experience. 
  • ​​​​​​​One (1) to three (3) years professional development experience preferred.
  • Experience with back-end frameworks and front-end frameworks. 
  • Effective organizational skills, including prioritizing projects. 
  • Working knowledge in some of these areas:
    •  PHP 
    • AWS Aurora, MySQL, MS SQL, Relational Databases 
    • Laravel 
    • C#.Net 
    •  MVC 4.0 
    • JavaScript 
    • Test Driven Development (ReSharper, CodeRush, etc.) 
    •  SSRS/SSIS 
    • REST and/or SOAP web services 
    •  Agile development 
    • Object oriented concepts 
    •  Paired Programming 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • A firm grasp of computer science fundamentals including, but not limited to, object oriented design, data structures, algorithm design and problem solving. 
  • Practical experience with website software platforms, frameworks, development tools, methodologies and best practices. 
  • Scrum master or other IT certifications a plus.
