CareStaff Partners is seeking an experienced School Psychologist (SSP) for a critical contract position at a School District near Limon, CO

Job Duties and Role Responsibilities:

As a School Psychologist you will collaborate with teachers, parents, and school personnel to improve classroom management strategies and/or parenting skills; addresses mental health issues; assesses, identifies and works with students with disabilities; and to improve teaching and learning strategies for all students. The School Psychologist is expected to coordinate and facilitate the needs of students and the school district including evaluation, counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, threat and risk assessment, staff development, research, educational planning and coordination with outside agencies. Additionally, the School Psychologist must maintain confidential records on all referred students. Other job duties for a School Psychologist may include:

  • Listen to concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
  • Help students process their problems and plan goals and action
  • Promote positive behaviors
  • Meet with parents and teachers to discuss learning, behavioral, familial and social problems
  • Study and implement behavioral management techniques
  • Research and implement learning programs
  • Evaluate and advise school disciplinary practices for troubled students
  • Participate in special education by administering psychological tests
  • Providing health advice to school educational teams, such as the Committee on Special Education and the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) team
