CareLuLu is Hiring a Child Care Advisor Near Washington, DC

Job Description

Job Description
Company Description

CareLuLu is on a mission to help improve access to safe, affordable, quality child care and early education. We help parents find the right child care or preschool program, by providing all the information in one place (photos, program information, cost, verified reviews, etc.) CareLuLu also helps child care programs grow their business while saving time for what truly matters: children!

Job Description

CareLuLu is seeking a Child Care Advisor in the Washington DC metro area! You’ll have full ownership of your work, and a direct positive impact on child care businesses. You’ll also be able to improve the quality of care for local families! We’re a small team with no office politics or hierarchy. Here, a positive “get-it-done” attitude is valued and rewarded.
Much of your time will be spent visiting child care providers. You will act mainly as a coach, offering guidance to help providers improve the quality of their program and become successful. You’ll perform unannounced visits on site to ensure quality & safety, enforce partnership rules, and help ensure that State/County child care licensing regulations are met.
This will not be an easy role, especially when providers don’t follow licensing regulations or partnership rules. You must be able to keep your cool and stand your ground, all while remaining courteous, professional, and keeping a positive attitude. To succeed, you’ll need perseverance, grit and exceptional social & communication skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • Build relationships with child care providers as you visit their facilities regularly.
  • Perform unannounced visits of child care facilities (homes and centers) to:
    • coach caregivers and teachers to help them be more successful and improve their early education program.
    • assess compliance with licensing regulations, evaluate quality of care, activities, and curriculum.
    • ensure compliance with our partnership rules and ensure providers meet our standards of safety and quality.
  • Prepare clear, concise, comprehensive internal reports on the results of visits.
  • Prepare a set of actionable recommendations for providers to improve quality.
Qualifications
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience in child care (not required, but ideally experience visiting or evaluating child care homes or centers).
  • Owner mentality: you’re self-motivated, set your own goals, and can deliver results while working independently from home.
  • Be tenacious, high-energy, able to overcome objections during difficult situations and keep a positive attitude.
  • Outstanding social skills, communication skills and ability to think on your feet.
  • Be extremely attentive to details with consistent error-free execution.
  • Must have a vehicle and ability to travel to child care programs through DC, MD and Northern VA.
  • Not required but a plus – you’re fluent in Spanish.
Additional Information

Compensation/Benefits
We’re a small team with a big mission to help improve access to safe, affordable, quality child care and early education. You’ll work in a collaborative setting, directly with the executive team. Benefits include competitive pay and a flexible environment (when not visiting facilities, you’ll work from home and have flexibility/autonomy on hours.) This can be a part-time role, so candidates can shape their work schedule, and enjoy their free time with their children, family, or other part-time work.
How to apply?
Send an email to jobs @ carelulu.com with the subject “Your Next Child Care Advisor (Your Name)”. Include a detailed note explaining: 1) why you want to join CareLuLu, 2) why you’ll be awesome in this specific role, and 3) why we absolutely need you over everybody else. Also, 4) include your resume in pdf format (not in word please!), and 5) take this 3-minute test: https://bit.ly/3R86HB2 (click on “Share your results” and copy your unique URL; make sure you’re not copying the generic link to “Invite for the test”).

Looking forward to hearing from you!
