The driver is the heart and soul of our transportation team. Our services help older adults, people with disabilities, and others live independent, quality lives by providing them access to necessary community services and non-emergency medical appointments. The driver provides caring and compassionate transportation services using agency vehicles and works cooperatively with the Transportation Dispatchers in providing safe and timely door to door service to our customers. Our staff is valued for the experience and unique viewpoints they bring to the team, and we encourage a good work/life balance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 2-year transportation experience preferred
- Valid AR driver’s license
- Driving record acceptable to insurance carrier
- Pass a background check
- Ability to maneuver and secure wheelchair passengers weighing up to 275 lbs. up wheelchair ramps and loading/unloading into vehicle with lifts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Knowledge of traffic laws
- Knowledge of metropolitan geography and Arkansas
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
- Ability to use GPS and read a map
- Ability to operate a computer tablet, read, and write
- Ability to exercise professionalism and patience with others
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides door to door service loading passengers on/off vehicles
- Runs scheduled route for pick-up and/or delivery
- Keeps vehicle interior/exterior clean, equipment is properly secured or stowed
- Ensures vehicle is refueled if less than 3/4 tank minimum
- Contacts dispatcher of unusual situation regarding client
- Obeys all traffic laws
- Uses most direct route to minimize time and distance traveled
- Log trip and vehicle information: status, times, and signature as required
- Complete health screening questionnaire
- Conducts/documents daily vehicle safety inspections
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
