Senior Data Engineer 

The senior data engineer is primarily responsible for delivering big data platforms, large-scale data pipelines, and streaming systems in the cloud. Specifically, you will guide the building and implementation of databases, data warehouses and data models. You'll be working on a unique big data ecosystem, designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and solutions that enable efficient data processing and analysis, migrating data from multiple disparate sources to a customized, highly extensible data warehouse. As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data infrastructure. 

Summary of Responsibilities 

• Constructs business facing datasets from a variety of sources internal and external to enable and perform analysis based on requests from project teams or senior leadership. 

• Breaks down business opportunities to identify business facing datasets to appropriately align to organizational needs through a business perspective. 

• Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, evaluates data quality, and transforms data as needed. 

• Analyzes and interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for process improvement. 

• Growth oriented mindset with a strong desire to learn and stay current on best practices and emerging capabilities to analyze data. 

• Lead complex extract, transform, and load (ETL) requirements and design. Identify, recommend, and implement ETL process and architecture improvements. 

• Good knowledge on data collection methods, data models, types, and will own the transformation process. 

Preferred Experience and Skills 

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience 

• 7 years of data engineering experience 

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent years of experience 

• Experience with Redshift data warehousing solutions 

• Experience with Lambda functions 

• ETL experience 

• Experience with data modeling 

• Automotive industry experience a plus 

• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Advanced knowledge of SQL, Python, R, and other various data engineering tools 

• Ability to manage large complex projects and process business requirements
