Medical Assistant - MA - Outpatient Oncology

CareerStaff Unlimited is hiring a qualified Medical Assistant for a full-time, 13-week contract position with one of our most valued clients in Port Charlotte, FL! Qualified candidates will have at least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or physician's office with the ability to perform venipunctures. Shift: M-F, 8A-5P

$200 start / $200 completion bonuses!

MEDICAL ASSISTANT - MA - POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Prepare patients for examination according to setting and specialty by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary
2. Ability to perform venipuncture duties, collect and prepare blood samples and lab specimens, and follow sterile procedures
3. Must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
4. Assist physicians and other medical staff during patient examinations
5. Phlebotomy experience is required, must be comfortable performing high-volume blood draws
6. Ability to work with other personnel and develop/maintain good relations
7. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of care and current clinical practice, treatments, and interventions
8. Ability to understand and monitor applicable regulations, policies, and procedures
9. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with rules and regulations
10. Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
11. Ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc.
12. Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
13. Demonstrate proficiency in written/verbal skills in the English language
14. Proficient computer skills and familiarity with navigating EMR systems

MEDICAL ASSISTANT - MA - JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum of 1 year of MA experience in a clinic or physician's office with the ability to perform venipunctures
2. High school diploma or GED
3. Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug screen with nicotine included
4. Must be local to the area, candidates with 30 minute commutes will not be considered
5. Must be eligible to work in the United States
