MORE ABOUT THE MA MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION:

CareerStaff Unlimited partners with companies around the country to raise the bar in healthcare by setting new standards for quality care and personalized service. Responsibilities for this Medical Assistant opportunity include, but are not limited to:

1. Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations.
2. Performs routine specialized procedures, such as venipuncture, catheterization, and sterile dressing changes under established protocols.
3. Preparing the patient for and assisting the physician during an exam.
4. Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens and performing basic lab tests.
5. Maintains stocks of medicines and medical supplies as necessary.
6. Interviews and reviews patients for financial status, as appropriate.
7. Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
8. Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities.
9. Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
10. May recruit patients for studies and may participate in outreach clinical activities as required.
11. May supervise student employees in specified tasks.
12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MA MEDICAL ASSISTANT:

1. Medical assistant or equivalent clinical training
2. 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
