Job Description

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly-skilled stormwater professional who wishes to be part of our expanding Transportation Hydraulics team. We are seeking candidates who want to work in a creative and collaborative environment at a project engineer level to help successfully deliver hydrologic and hydraulic design for Muller’s numerous transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide hydrologic and hydraulic engineering support to Muller’s transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region, which include roadways, regional trails, bridges, and park facilities
  • Design of detention/stormwater quality features, culverts, storm drain systems, ditches, river hydraulics, floodplain evaluations, channel stabilization, bridge hydraulics and scour analyses, erosion and sediment control, and assistance with environmental permitting
  • Preparation of construction drawings, development of specifications, technical report writing, construction engineering support, and guiding the work of design engineers and technicians
  • Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of multidisciplinary projects
  • Support Project Managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination
  • Assist Project Managers with project management duties. Project Manager will provide oversight and guidance of Project Engineers management responsibilities
Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or a closely related field) from an accredited college or university
  • 4-8 years of experience with focus on design of stormwater improvements
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic computer programs (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, CUHP, SWMM, storm drain/culvert/open channel design tools) and utilization of MHFD criteria desired.
  • Experience with Open Roads Designer. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team oriented with strong collaboration skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.

Licenses/Registrations:

  • Active Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer from another state within 6 months of hire

Base salary range for this position is: $90,000/yr - $110,000/yr dependent on individual education, qualifications, experience, and other factors.
