POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

The Payroll Analyst is responsible to review the activities of workers involved in processing employee paychecks. Analyst post Specialist work once reviewed and ensures that the processes follow company practice, policy, federal and state regulations when paying workers. Analyst will assist in training Specialist and is back up for some duties that are typically Specialist responsibilities or duties of an advance nature.

  • Responsible for performing a variety of duties necessary to assist the Payroll Manager in the accurate and timely processing of payrolls.
  • Review entries and processing of the Payroll Specialist.
  • Is responsible for the reviewing the accuracy of paychecks, deductions and tax computations.
  • Posting Labor, Leave and Payroll after reviewing for accuracy.
  • Responsible for processing payroll from start to finish often against tight deadlines.
  • Responsible for reviewing and auditing Davis Bacon certified reports
  • Backup for setup and reviewing errors for Deltek Time and Expense
  • Backup for training new and current staff on proper processing producers
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population. Analyst should show a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Other related duties as required and assigned within the Payroll Department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to Four years of progressively complex Payroll processing required.
  • Experience in a multi-state and international payroll environment required
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws
  • ERP project-based accounting system required, CostPoint preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and review complex payroll work with accuracy while working under time constraints.
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to operate office machines, including a computer, copier, fax and 10-key by touch as well as make arithmetic calculations.

  • CostPoint experience.
  • Deltek Time & Expense experience.
