Seeking a Vice President, Expense Management & Analysis to join an Asset Management Company in the Los Angeles area. This role sits in the Expense Management & Analysis sub-department of the Fund Accounting & Operations department.
This resource will lead the effort to improve overall operations and help drive significant change in the firm's expense management and reporting capabilities. This individual will have an immediate impact on productivity by streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proven success in a business management role, with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee strategic initiatives, from design and development through successful execution
- Standardization of firm wide-expense coding and GL postings
- Simplification of complex fund allocation and reimbursement processes
- Concise, real-time data reporting of corporate and fund expenses
- Lead toward a procure to pay operation
- Serve as a trusted advisor to and second for Head of Expense Management & Analysis
- Keep Head of Expense Management very well apprised of team's achievements, challenges, steps to resolve, progress on priorities to allow for informed in-field decision making and strategizing
- Help design long term strategic forecast for Expense Management & Analysis and roadmap to execute
- Assist officers in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation
- Liaise with staff, officers regarding departmental climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of materials and updated process documentation
- Review and execute improvements to organizational structure; find knowledge and skills gaps and help address
- Optimize onshore and offshore operational structure for efficiency and productivity
- Develop and maintain KPIs
Document and perform Quality Control reviews of Expense Management & Analysis policies & procedures
- Work closely with leadership and resources within the team to continuously improve process and data quality standards within the group.

years management experience, preferably in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Accounting within the financial services industry, and preferably in the investment management industry.
- Experience in 'Big 4' type organizations (or comparable), in consulting or audit
- Track record in business analysis and process improvement
- Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems
- Experience with large sets of data
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
