Job Title: Marketing and Communication Assistant
Location: Washington- DC
Job Type: On-site
Contract Length: 6 months Contract Extension
Pay-rate :: $32.65 / Hour On1099
REQUIREMENTS-
Plan and submit monthly social media posts to the Public Information Officer by creating a calendar showing posts written for X, Facebook, Nextdoor, or others with a focus on pairing the right message with the right audience.
Create social media graphics to illustrate posts using simple design software or websites such as Canva and following the government branding guidelines.
Monitor social media daily and report to the Public Information Officer about any mentions or discussions about the industry.
Using internet research and under the guidance of the Public Information Officer, gather weekly press clips from reputable news sources to find interesting stories about local transportation issues and local/national/ and international stories about the for-hire vehicle industry and other related topics.
Using GovDelivey, analyze email lists, applying quality assurance and quality control to ensure lists are up to date and reaching appropriate audiences. Provide the Public Information Officer monthly reports to track email analytics. Add individuals to email lists as needed.
QALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE-
Bachelor's degree in any field is required; Communications, marketing, or journalism preferred.
At least one year of experience in communications, public affairs, marketing, or journalism preferred.
Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data entry/management.
Experience in using Canva or other graphic design programs.
Understands best practices for Social Media management including X, Facebook, and emerging platforms.
Maintains active and effective communications.
Familiarity with Customer Management Systems and email analytics.
