About the Role
We are the UI teams at Workdayprimarily responsible for delivering new platform capabilities to our customers (internal and external) with our unique framework which provides customers a place where they can find a complete view of their functional area. We are engineers with a customer-first mentality and our teams comprise of client engineers, server engineers and QA engineers all in one agile scrum team.
Workday User Interface is generated dynamically from metadata. Our engineers focus on building beautiful user experiences without worrying about the application logic. Built on modern, standards-based technologies, UI is meticulously crafted - and deployed continuously to customers using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
This is an opportunity to be part of the team that builds UI frameworks that powers the Workday user experience for millions of people every day. As a full-stack Software Engineer within UI Platform teams, you will:

• Collaborate with peers on technical design, work estimation and implementation of new features including interfaces/contracts with storage systems, data transformation and handoff to front end technology.
• Be part of an agile development team, work with fellow engineers of various subject areas (metadata, client, server, etc), product managers and QA engineers to deliver customer-centric features on the Workday UI.
• Collaboratively develop solutions using the latest technologies including React and Java.
• Contribute ideas for continually improving the team's efficiency, job enjoyment, and code quality

About You
Basic Qualifications

• 2 years work experience in front-end web development, implementing component-based UI architectures
• 2 years of coding experience with Java/Kotlin/Scala as the primary and exposure to related technologies like Spring
• 2 years of relevant experience in server side Java and related technologies
• Solid work experience in Java based application development

Other Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Java and object-oriented principles
• Educational background in relevant fields, preferably Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineerings.
• Extensive experience with modern JavaScript libraries & frameworks (React/Redux)
• Has experience implementing and understanding Object-Oriented Programming and common design patterns (MVC, Inversion of Control, Event-driven systems)
• Professional experience with continuous deployment of large enterprise web applications
• Demonstrated ability to work on features involving multiple platforms / teams
• Takes ownership to drive projects to completion and overcome roadblocks with positivity and creativity
• Familiarity with the development challenges inherent with highly scalable and available web applications
• Hands-on with testing, build automation, deployments, and monitoring, in addition to design and implementation
• Experience on RESTful web service development is a plus
• GWT experience is a plus

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
