Executive Director of Communications and Public Relations
Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer, will be primarily responsible for managing the Companys internal & external Enterprise communication strategy. This will include, but not limited to, assisting with developing the Strategic Communications Plan; an integrated social media strategy; developing relationships with related media outlets; and providing internal updates and a synopsis of external news that may impact the Enterprise. This position is responsible for safeguarding and developing the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprises reputation, and activities that support Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprises business objectives. Additionally, this executive is responsible for developing community and business relations to further the Navajo Gaming brand. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field plus ten (10) years of senior management experience in communications and public relations in a corporate environment to include five (5) years of project management experience in communications and public relations. Proven experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive strategic communication, media relations, and marketing program to advance an organizations mission and goals. Experience in radio reporting, programming, and production is required. Demonstrated experience as a reporter, editor, or columnist. Experience in gaming and hospitality preferred. Master's degree in communications is preferred. Must meet all Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Valid drivers license. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. Navajo preference.
