Safety Coordinator (Phoenix)

We are looking for a safety coordinator for a manufacturing facility in the west valley.

The safety coordinator will be responsible for all manufacturing plant safety programs.

Job duties and essential functions :

• Works with leadership to develop or revise safety initiatives and programs.
• Facilitates the Safety Committee by being a mentor to safety committee leadership.
• Implement and maintain Lock out tag out (LOTO) program.
• Create, review and update job hazard assessments (JHA).
• Develops, documents, and maintains compliance for all company, local, state, and federal safety requirements.
• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure that safe job practices are followed, and protective equipment is properly utilized.

Ensure all routine safety inspections are completed on time.

• Facilitates and investigates all safety incidents; near miss, first aides, recordable incidents. Uses cross functional team to determine incident root cause and implement robust corrective actions and share such information with other locations for their use.
• Conducts new hire training and ensures new employees understand safety practices and policies; provides training to employees on the safe and appropriate operation of machinery and equipment;

Education and experience :

• Post-secondary education required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, EH&S, Safety from an accredited College or University, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2- 3 years’ experience in a safety or EH&S role. Manufacturing background is a must!
