The Career Preparation Specialist is responsible for the successful implementation of student career preparation including oversight of the center Student Orientation Program and Occupational Exploration Program.
Minimum: High School Diploma. Current driver license.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or four years related professional work experience. One year experience in career development, workforce development, counseling, sales, marketing, or related field. Two or more years’ experience in career development, workforce development, counseling, sales, marketing, or related field.
General Information: In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, candidate must have regular attendance.
Knowledge Required: Sound knowledge of case management, career counseling, employment counseling and job search, job preparation and development techniques. Must be able to effectively communicate with culturally disadvantaged and minority youth. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Excellent communication skill, both oral and written. Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/FA certification. Good organizational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students
