Career Path Services is Hiring a Business Support Partner Near Spokane, WA

As part of our Talent Solutions team, this position involves daily efforts working with Black-owned businesses in Spokane, providing critical support to help businesses thrive. Funded by state Community Reinvestment Funds, we are working to develop innovative strategies to strengthen the business community and workforce. In this role you will need strong business acumen, excellent communication, natural networking skills and the ability to creatively problem solve. This position is full time and will work from our Spokane location. Black, Indigenous, Latinx and (POC) people of color communities and people from marginalized communities encouraged to apply. ABOUT THE JOB
The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with Black-owned businesses, serving as a key point of contact for their needs, concerns, and aspirations. Experience working with businesses is a critical component of the Business Support Partner.
  • Needs Assessment: Using our established tools, conduct comprehensive needs assessments to understand the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Black-owned businesses. Identify workforce gaps and equity barriers facing.
  • Advocacy: Act as an advocate for Black-owned businesses, contributing to the development of programs/initiatives for success. Support recruitment & retention efforts.
  • Resource Connection: Facilitate connections between Black-owned businesses and relevant resources, including mentorship, funding opportunities, and education.
  • Capacity Building: Provide guidance and support to enhance the capacity and capabilities of Black-owned businesses, to navigate challenges and capitalize on growth.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively to develop/implement strategies promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the business community
  • Education and Outreach: Develop and deliver educational workshops, training sessions, and outreach programs to raise awareness about the needs and contributions of Black-owned businesses.

  • Familiarity, and/or capacity to learn about, local and national resources supporting Black, Indigenous, Latinx or, People of Color owned businesses.

  • Critical thinking abilities and able to use purposeful and reflective judgment to process, analyze, interpret, and explain, evaluate, illustrate, and share information.
  • Able to apply a consultative sales lens approach to marketing strategy and tactics. Skilled at addressing potential solutions to the talent development needs of businesses.
  • Timely, consistent, effective communicator, with written and verbal presentation skills.

  • Adaptable and responsive to business, workforce, and WorkSource campus needs.
  • Flexible in working some early morning, evening and/or weekend hours if requested.

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required
  • Experience working closely with small or medium businesses in roles such as business development, marketing, sales or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Solid skills using Microsoft Office Suite, LinkedIn, and other office technologies.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and cultural competency.
Preferred
  • Experience working with Black-owned businesses or minority-owned businesses.
  • Job development experience with public or private employers a plus.
  • A degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, or a related field.
  • Use of CRM software or territory management program.

Job: Business Support Partner
Primary Location: Spokane, WA
Salary: Full salary range is $53,000-78,000 annually. Most starting salaries start at or near the base of the range, $53,000 annual salary, however could be higher DOE.
