The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, tax law knowledge, and the ability to manage financial records with precision. This is an all in office position, but we have free snacks, coffee and parking!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports.
  • Advise management on tax ramifications of business decisions and suggest strategies for minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance and reconcile bank accounts to ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and file tax returns: federal and state tax returns for individuals including all schedules; federal and multi-state tax returns for LLCs, partnerships, and corporations.
  • Monitor and analyze financial accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Offer guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization efforts to our business clients.
  • Provide financial forecasting and risk analysis to support business planning and decision-making for our clients.
  • Mentor and supervise junior accounting, bookkeeping, payroll and tax preparers, providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Assist clients with their budgeting process, offering guidance, support and expertise.

Job Requirements:

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of tax preparation experience, preferably in a public accounting firm, including corporate and partnership returns
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting software; our client uses Drake & Xero
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and IRS regulations
  • Strong understanding of tax codes 
  • Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and tax returns
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Time management skills with the capability to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to continue learning and keep up-to-date with new regulations or policies in the accounting field
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team
